Graduating with Honours from the Humber College Industrial Design program in 2002, I began working with Ove Industrial Design in 2003 and have completed projects in the medical, industrial and consumer product markets. Working closely with clients and customers, engineers and manufacturing partners, I’ve taken projects from idea to manufactured reality. I particularly enjoy projects where limitations create challenges that require innovative solutions.

Octane Biotech: Cocoon Cell Therapy System - The Cocoon is an automated tissue engineering instrument used to create bioactive implants to repair damaged cartilage and other tissue. The design can be single stand alone unit or scaled up to multi-unit “Trees”. Octane wanted a design that reflected the advanced and unique technology inside.
Northern Light Technologies: Eagle Mining Cap Lamp - The Eagle lamp retained the look of the Polaris lamp, with modifications to add new technology, adding a new battery pack and charger. Size, weight, and durability were all important factors in the design as the comfort and safety of the end user was important.
IPEX: Scepter JBox Series - In an industry where most manufacturers make very similar products, IPEX wanted to differentiate their junction boxes from the competition. Through a series of interviews with electricians and contractors we established a list of features that could make installation faster, including integrated fasteners and a co-molded gasket. These features were applied to a line of more than 20 boxes and hinged closures.
Envisacor: Personal Emergency Response System - The Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) is a small base station and fob that can be used to contact friends, family, or emergency services with the push of a button.
Encelium: Greenbus Lighting Control - The Greenbus Lighting Control connects with a light-management system, primarily in an office environment. It is customizable with various faceplates allowing it to manage a variety of programmed lighting schemes. The mechanical and electronic technology inside this lighting control needed to fit within the confines of existing light switches while presenting a clean outer appearance.
D&R Electronics: Odyssey Light Bar – The Odyssey Light Bar incorporates the standard flashing lights common on emergency vehicles with a display board that can be raised to present more information when needed. The Odyssey needed to be expandable so it could be customized to various customers needs, and function in various extreme weather conditions.
Canplas Industries LTD.: Endura XL Grease Interceptor - The Endura XL is a grease interceptor used by restaurants to keep grease from entering municipal sewage systems. Making the grease interceptor easier to clean and maintain was a priority, reducing down time when attention is needed. This led to the development of the Dynamic Inlet Baffle, allowing blockages to be quickly cleared and get the system back up and running.
Allanson International: Swordfish UVC Room Air Purifier - The Swordfish adapted Allanson's existing UVC Whole Home air purification technology, traditionally installed in the furnace system, to a single room, portable unit. An important element of the design was maximizing airflow while preventing UVC escape.
