You’re an Industrial Designer… think you’re a genius? Well, you may be right! TVO presents The Genius of Design, a five-part series that tells the story of Industrial Design. Covering essential themes such as industrialization and capitalism; as well as, critical issues facing designers today like over-production, consumption and the environment, The Genius of Design takes a historical look at significant periods in Industrial Design: the Industrial Revolution, 20s modernism, the swinging 60s, the designer 80s, and the present day.

At this popular event, students of the Industrial Design program at Humber College introduce fourteen new chair designs. Visitors will be invited to tour and experience this unique show, and to interact with the design teams. Awards will announced in various categories, judged by a panel of notable individuals in the design community.

What: In Malcolm Gladwell’s book The Tipping Point, he speaks about how little things can make a big difference. With all of the information and visual noise that surrounds us today, what are the little things that designers can do to contribute to our society to bring order to the chaos?
