A positive relationship with the public is the most effective tool police have to prevent and deter crime. A vehicle combining the height, visibility and approachability of a horse with the convenience and ease of use of a motor vehicle will allow for the broader application of mounted policing techniques. A ground-up, solution, designed around the needs of the officer and public, rather than a found solution will be more ergonomic. A designed solution will also be user friendly, requiring less infrastructure in terms of training and maintenance therefore reducing cost. A vehicle to expand and augment mounted policing will build trust and inspire confidence in law enforcement.
