Nóozhi: Food and Knowledge Sharing Service
The remote northern community of Mayo, Yukon has struggled with food insecurity, the region’s isolation and reliance on imported foods make it susceptible to supply chain disruptions. Nóozhi is a food and knowledge sharing service which confronts these issues by promoting a circular food economy in Mayo. It combines sustainable hemp packaging, a culturally relevant brand identity and a community based mobile app to connect users to their local food system. This project aims to promote food sovereignty, improving access to nutritious and culturally appropriate foods while prioritizing sustainability, self-sufficiency and cultural continuity.
