TRACE: One rescuer. One act of humanity,
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is one of the most devastating civilian emergencies happening in the world right now, one that has been widely recognized as genocide. Rescuers face impossible choices: leave someone behind, or attempt to move them in ways that risk worsening injuries.
TRACE is a solo rescue device built for Gaza’s reality: limited medical access, active danger, and the urgent need to move injured civilians safely. TRACE provides a durable, human-centred solution that protects both rescuer and survivor. Designed around ergonomics, dignity, and the need to improve emergency response in crisis environments.

I am Shahed Abu Aziz, an industrial designer driven by the belief that design should serve people first. To me, design is a way of giving form to empathy, transforming challenges into meaningful solutions that can improve everyday life. My work is rooted in a balance among function, aesthetics, and sustainability, creating designs that are not only practical but lasting in both purpose and impact.
