Vault Stool: Woven Carbon Fiber Stool
The Vault Stool is a lightweight, woven carbon fiber stool. Using kagome, a Japanese triaxial weaving technique, the unique form of the Stool is the intersection of traditional techniques and modern materials. The Stool’s structure is reinforced by the curved edges, reminiscent of vaulted arches found in architecture. The final object is a culmination of the rigorous exploration into triaxial weaving and working within the constraints of the weave as well as the material properties of carbon fiber.
