Model N: Enhancing Biking Experience
Model N explores how thoughtful design can better accommodate the needs of high school students during their daily commute to school in suburban areas. It addresses the challenges they face, rethinking the balance between safety, practicality, and aesthetics, aiming to help students feel more confident on their ride, or even encourage them to use biking as a form of transportation. Model N is an electric bike designed to meet the unique needs of high school students. It offers features like built-in storage, an easy mounting frame for convenience and balance, reflective surfaces for visibility, integrated front and rear lights, and more. Incorporating styles that resonate with students, Model N balances the three aspects to create a comfortable and efficient commute, applying the principle of “form follows function.” By designing a bike tailored to their needs, it encourages independence, reduces reliance on parents for transportation, and promotes a healthier, more sustainable way to travel, especially in suburban areas with limited public transportation options.
