Incluze: An Adult-Sized Change Table that empowers persons with disabilities.
Adult-Sized Change Tables help facilitate the toileting of persons with physical and/or intellectual disabilities in order for them to stay out in public for longer periods of time. However, these products are still rare in public spaces like museums, theatres, and event venues. Many are designed like medical devices, which don’t blend into modern interiors and create social and physical barriers. Incluze addresses this by using Material-Led Design to re-design these tables from the ground up. The design features a Murphy bed-inspired mechanism, allowing access from both long sides for easier caregiving. The result is a product that not only improves function but also integrates itself seamlessly into public environments. Informed by stakeholder interviews, field research, and testing, Incluze empowers users and promotes Accessibility in the built environment.
