Sunday Chair: Furniture Design
Comfort is far more than an ergonomic fit, it’s a sense felt around the entire body. The dimensions of comfort and wellbeing can be activated by rocking, having a surprisingly vital impact on the user’s well-being. In just one welcoming form of furniture, rocking provides some of the key conditions for people to unwind, destress and be engaged in a positive headspace. Facilitating a sense of informality and relaxation, the Sunday Chair is everything that a modern rocking chair should be; fresh and contemporary while retaining the most critical elements needed to communicate a sense of warmth. The Sunday Chair provides a new catalyst for comfort and a meaningful destination for unwinding.
About the Designer
Eric Kirwin, Sheridan College
Constantly immersed in his work, Eric is continuously developing new concepts and ideas. Often inspired by the materials around him, his passion to create is visible within his body of work. His practice is characterized by technical expertise, instinct, and a passion for experimentation. Eric has explored a broad spectrum of design, specifically interested in furniture, domestic goods, and living accessories.
